Day 9 – The First Walk

Yes! Today I managed to add the walking and running animations to the characters. Each level will be made up of a grid and I can now have the models walk or run between two or more points on the grid, stopping at the destination.

Just like with the character models themselves, I created a separate test scene where I can easily verify animations and actions.

It’s all very basic. The stopping at the right spot needs work and I’ll want to add some actual turning instead of snapping when they change direction, but hey, they walk… on the ground!

Should be enough for my first milestone, all-in-all quite happy with the result.
