Day 49 – Stealth

With some basic field of view available, I worked on the first stealth concepts today. The soldiers now start the mission in stealth mode. This doesn’t actually mean much, except that they have not yet been spotted by any enemies (only the Kingpin right now of course).

I added a stealth mode flag to each soldier that gets unset as soon as they are detected by an enemy. While in stealth mode it’s important to know which actions might trigger you to be detected. So I added an alert indicator on those tiles that fall inside an enemy FOV.

Once a character is no longer in stealth, the alert indicators stop showing up. Along with seeing the enemy FOV, this should make it easier to sneak up behind an opponent.

As usual, I made a little movie showcasing the changes.
