Day 50 – Last Known Location

For this milestone there was another thing I wanted to add related to the line of sight system: a visual reminder of the last known location.

When an enemy exits your field of view, I create a snapshot of the moving character and keep it at the spot where you saw it last. That way you know where to go to find them again.

The reflection stays around for an additional game turn before it disappears. And it will disappear immediately once you spot the actual character or you get a clear view of the spot where the reflection is.

It is entirely visual right now but later on I’ll pass the same information onto the AI so it can hunt down soldiers even if it no longer sees them. I’ll probably increase the number of turns that the AI remembers seeing an enemy. More stuff to play around with.
